EVENTS COMMITTEE

The PEI Young Farmers Events Committee is a passionate group of young agricultural leaders dedicated to creating opportunities for connection, learning, and growth among young farmers and agri-professionals across Prince Edward Island. This committee plays a key role in organizing events that bring together the next generation of agricultural voices, fostering collaboration and community through workshops, farm tours, socials, and educational sessions. The committee works to ensure these events reflect the interests and needs of young people in agriculture.

Through close collaboration with industry stakeholders, government partners, and local organizations, the committee strives to deliver engaging and impactful events that strengthen relationships and support the development of young farmers across the province. Members bring diverse perspectives from across PEI, helping to create inclusive and meaningful experiences that promote networking, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.

Relationships

As a member of the Events Committee, you’ll meet young farmers, agri-business professionals, industry partners, and community leaders while organizing and attending events across the province.

Time Commitment 

This committee meets monthly and provides opportunities to attend events and contribute input to create engaging socials. 

Accountability

To join the Events Committee, it’s helpful to have an outgoing personality, as you’ll be engaging regularly with young farmers and agri-business professionals.

AGRICULTURE POLICY COMMITTEE

The PEI Young Farmers Agriculture Policy Committee is a dedicated group of young agricultural leaders committed to representing and advocating for the needs and interests of young farmers and agri-professionals across Prince Edward Island. This committee serves as a vital platform for the next generation of agricultural voices, focusing on shaping policies that directly impact the future of farming on the Island. The committee works to ensure that policies reflect the realities and aspirations of young people in agriculture.

Through regular consultation and collaboration with industry stakeholders, government departments, and partner organizations, the committee aims to influence decision-making processes and contribute meaningful input to policy development at both the provincial and national levels. Members of the committee bring forward grassroots perspectives from across the Island, ensuring a diverse and representative approach to advocacy. 

Relationships

While on this committee, you'll connect with fellow young farmers, industry leaders, government officials, and policy makers, building valuable relationships across the agricultural sector.

Time Commitment 

This committee meets quarterly, with additional opportunities to participate in meetings and consultations with policy makers and industry leaders.

Accountability

Members of the Agriculture Policy Committee should have a basic understanding of PEI’s laws, regulations, and political landscape to effectively contribute to policy discussions and advocacy efforts.
